I loved using this hole punch, even though it only offered 2 notches when I needed 4. The pages were held together but always out of alignment: difficult to turn, as stuck in the spine, or slipping around the rings when the perforation holes didn’t fit and had to be redone, like a hiccup in 2D. Like a hiccup running down the sides.

A thing with a hole in it is often seen as losing its substance, its capacity, its true, best form. Yet it is in the hole that we see what holds and surrounds. This thing is full of holes.
